REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma
  • Experience in Fire Assay is not required, but can be an asset. On the job training is provided.
  • Possess good verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Read, understand, follow work instructions and guidelines accurately and safely
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal and computer skills
  • Ability to problem solve, multi-task, meet deadline and perform in a fast-paced work environment to achieve turnaround requirement
  • Proven time management skills, quality driven and attention to detail
  • Reliable, organized and proactive
  • Ability to work well as a team member and independently
  • Excellent eye-hand co-ordination and manual dexterity to perform tasks
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, clean shaven in order to safely wear PPE
  • Rotating shift and extended hours may be required

Responsibilities
  • Carry out Fire Assay procedures i.e. fluxing, fusing and cupelling samples as per written procedures
  • Mix dry chemicals, load trays into a furnace (working in a hot environment) and pour samples
  • Complete required documentation and logs
  • Follow QC procedures accurately and safely
  • Maintain a clean work environment
  • Organize waste disposal
  • Strict adherence with the company’s Health & Safety and Professional Conduct Policies
  • Any other tasks assigned directly or indirectly by the department manager or supervisor
