Description
We Are Hiring! We are expanding our engineering team. We are looking for motivated professionals to support fire detection and suppression system engineering activities within international railway projects, contributing to the design, integration, validation, and lifecycle management of onboard fire protection systems across rolling stock platforms. You will play an important role in coordinating technical activities between engineering teams, suppliers, certification bodies, and project stakeholders, supporting the successful delivery of railway systems in compliance with safety, quality, regulatory, and customer requirements. Your Responsibilities Design and develop fire detection and suppression systems for railway rolling stock. Define system architecture, functional specifications, and performance requirements. Select appropriate sensors, detectors, extinguishing agents, and control units. Ensure compliance with railway fire safety standards (ARGE, EN 45545, EN 50155, EN 50121). Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and system integration teams to ensure proper installation and operation. Perform design reviews, hazard analyses, and failure mode assessments (FMEA, FTA). Support prototype testing, verification, and validation activities. Coordinate with suppliers and certification bodies to ensure system approval and compliance. Provide technical support during commissioning and maintenance phases. Your Profile Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronic Engineering. Minimum 3–5 years of experience in fire detection or suppression systems, preferably in the railway, automotive, or aerospace industry. Strong understanding of safety standards and risk assessment methods. Excellent communication, analytical, and documentation skills. Fluent in English (written and spoken). Why Join Wyss&Lila?
