Description

We’re looking for a Fire Door Engineer to join our team at one of the most iconic shopping centres in Europe.
You’ll be responsible for the inspection, maintenance and installation of fire-rated doors and firestopping systems, helping to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.

Working as part of a small, multi-skilled building services team, you’ll also provide general maintenance support.
You’ll be guided by the on-site Technical Services Manager and have access to training and development plans designed to help you grow your career.

PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL COMPETENCIES/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience working with fire doors in a commercial or retail environment
  • Sound understanding of BM Trada standards and fire door compliance
  • NVQ or City & Guilds qualification in Carpentry and Joinery is essential
  • Additional NVQ or City & Guilds qualifications in Passive Fire Protection are highly desirable
  • FIA (Fire Industry Association) certifications are an advantage
  • Knowledge of current fire safety legislation and best practice standards
  • Ability to assess, maintain, and install fire doors to regulatory requirements
Responsibilities
  • Conduct visual inspections, repairs, and installation of fire doors and frames in line with relevant standards on the Westfield contract
  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance tasks, ensuring work (including quoted projects) is completed to an acceptable standard
  • Support emergency call-outs and assist with resolving maintenance issues raised by retailers or site management
  • Liaise with and oversee contractors, ensuring compliance with site standards and direction from the TSM/KAM
  • Maintain accurate records, manage stock appropriately, and ensure maintenance areas and equipment are kept clean and safe
  • Use site systems, including Building Management and
  • Planned Maintenance platforms, and carry a site radio at all times
  • Provide flexible shift cover (day/night) when required and assist with caretaker duties, refurb inspections, and staff training
