QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A keen interest in carpentry and / or woodwork with desire to build a career in the fire protection industry.
  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in Mathematics and English with a strong emphasis on practical skills.
  • Applicants for the apprenticeships should enjoy making things, working with tools and machinery and have some basic design skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and a willingness to learn.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

Fire Door & Passive Fire Protection Installation & maintenance Apprentice.

ROLE PURPOSE:

The Fire Door & Passive Fire Protection Installation Apprentice supports the installation and maintenance of fire doors and passive fire protection systems. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, the apprentice will develop technical skills and gain practical knowledge essential for ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations to protect lives and property.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· To assist in the installation of fire doors, frames, and associated hardware.
· To contribute to the fitting of passive fire protection systems, including firestopping, intumescent seals, and fire barriers.
· To assist with inspections and repairs of fire doors and passive fire protection systems.
· To ensure proper alignment and functionality of components during maintenance activities.
· To record measurements, photographs, and work details to ensure accurate reporting.
