Description

JOINING ARUP

Arup’s purpose, shared values and collaborative approach has set us apart for over 75 years, guiding how we shape a better world.
We are looking for Fire Engineers to join our UK team. This role is vital to help deliver our growing portfolio of exciting projects and to assist in the development of our diverse, innovative, multi-cultural and self-motivated team of fire safety consultants. Watch this short clip to discover how Arup are shaping a better world and how you could be a part of it!

As a Fire Engineer you would be expected:

  • To understand and implement the principle of fire science on real projects via the engineering process (goals, objectives, building appraisal and hazards, design fire scenarios etc).
  • To understand the Total Fire Safety concept: from client brief, through design and construction; taking account of the socio-technical context, seeking to pre-empt fire safety issues common at different stages of a project, so that the end result delivers on the client brief.
  • To investigate and apply appropriate legislation and design guidance for use on your projects.
  • To develop and implement fire strategies in collaboration with the design team and relevant stakeholders. You’ll either be working towards Chartered Engineer status or have a real motivation to achieve this. If it’s the latter, we will support you with what you need to succeed here
