FIRE ENGINEER

Location: Colchester (Hybrid)
Salary: Up to £90,000 + Car Allowance + Career Development Opportunities
Prime Appointments is working with an industry-leading company seeking an experienced Fire Engineer to join their expanding team on the outskirts of Colchester. This is a senior role, reporting to the Head of Operations, where you will be responsible for delivering expert fire safety strategies for existing buildings.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Degree in Fire Engineering or a related field is essential
  • Ideally Chartered or working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status
  • Strong background in fire engineering, fire safety consultancy, or risk assessment
  • Extensive knowledge of fire safety regulations and compliance standards
  • Proven ability to provide technical leadership and expert guidance to clients
  • Experience with heritage buildings, high-rise structures, or complex facilities is advantageous
  • Skilled in fire strategy development, stakeholder engagement, and regulatory compliance

  • Conduct detailed fire safety inspections and produce comprehensive reports with actionable recommendations
  • Ensure all fire safety strategies comply with current legislation, national and international standards (e.g., ADB, BS 9997)
  • Develop and implement retrospective fire safety strategies for existing buildings
  • Identify fire safety risks and propose cost-effective, practical solutions
  • Support the implementation of new fire safety services and emerging technologies
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate fire safety solutions effectively
