Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and proactive Fire Life Safety Systems (FLSS) Technician to support the operation and maintenance of fire protection and life safety systems in a high-tech electronic manufacturing facility. The role ensures that all systems are maintained at optimal performance, comply with regulatory standards, and provide a safe environment for employees, assets, and operations. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on FLSS equipment, including: Fire alarm systems Fire suppression systems (sprinklers, FM200, CO₂, inert gas, clean agent systems) Fire pumps, hydrants, and hose reels Emergency lighting and evacuation systems Conduct routine inspections, testing, and calibration of FLSS equipment in accordance with NFPA, BOMBA, and Malaysian statutory requirements. Support the troubleshooting and repair of system faults and provide timely corrective actions. Assist in fire drills, emergency response, and evacuation exercises in collaboration with EHS and Security teams. Maintain accurate service reports, maintenance logs, and statutory compliance records. Support internal and external audits, including BOMBA inspections and client audits. Work closely with Facilities Engineers, vendors, and contractors to ensure smooth execution of projects and system upgrades. Provide technical support during system commissioning, acceptance testing, and facility expansions. Ensure spare parts inventory and tools are available to support critical maintenance tasks. Follow strict EHS guidelines, safety standards, and permit-to-work procedures. Requirements Diploma/Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, or Fire & Safety Engineering, or related technical field. Minimum 2–4 years’ hands-on experience in fire protection and life safety systems within manufacturing, semiconductor, or large facilities environment. Familiar with BOMBA regulations, NFPA codes, and other fire protection standards. Strong technical knowledge of fire alarm panels, suppression systems, and emergency evacuation systems. Ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics. Good communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment. Willingness to work shifts, on-call duty, and respond to emergencies. Preferred Qualifications Certification in Fire Alarm System or Fire Protection (e.g., NFPA training, BOMBA-approved courses). Hands-on experience with Data Center or electronics/semiconductor cleanroom environments. Knowledge of Building Management System (BMS) integration with FLSS.
