The Children's Recovery Center is looking for a safety-minded and support-focused Fire Prevention and Security Officer to join their team! This position is assigned responsibilities involving the inspection of buildings and grounds for elimination of fire hazards, enforcement of laws, rules and regulations and providing security at the Children's Recovery Center. Typical work duties may include patrolling assigned premises to identify and correct fire hazards; providing assistance to employees or visitors; directing traffic; and performing other duties related to the protection of state property, employees, visitors and others. Job Type/Salary: Full-time position. F&S Salary Level I: $29,500 ($14.18/hourly) F&S Salary Level II: $31,500 ($15.14/hourly) 8, 10, 12 Hour Night Shifts Only Must work at least 1 weekend day a week. (Saturday and/or Sunday) Must be 21 years of age or older, due to DHS requirements. Non-Exempt Posted until filled Minimum Qualifications and Experience: F&S Level I: No requisite education and experience are required for consideration. F&S Level II: Completion of a basic security and/or firefighter's course, and 2 years of experience in security or fire prevention and protection work. Special Requirements: Upon a conditional offer of employment, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services applicants must submit to a physical examination and shall meet the physical examination requirements of lifting/carrying 60 pounds occasionally, and able to push and pull a maximum force of 30 pounds. Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver’s license.
