As we continue with our growth strategy, we are currently seeking and have an immediate opening for a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of Project Coordinator based in Edmonton, AB.
The Project Coordinator will report to the Technical Sales and Engineering Manager or his designate This is a permanent position and will be responsible for the accurate and timely completion of a variety of administrative tasks required to support the needs of the sales, engineering and site operations team, clients, and subcontractors. The position requires a strong team player with excellent communication, organizational, and planning skills with initiative and the ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Post-secondary education in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field; a background in fire protection is considered an asset.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA codes and standards.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a project coordination role, preferably within the fire protection, construction, or a technical services industry.
  • Sprinkler Fitter and/or CFAA (Canadian Fire Alarm Association) certification or experience is considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and project scheduling tools such as MS Project or equivalent.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Experience in procurement, vendor coordination, and subcontractor management is an asset.
  • Self-motivated with a collaborative mindset and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain project schedules; support the Project Manager with updates and analysis of field performance.
  • Identify, request, and coordinate the procurement of tools and materials through the Supply Chain team.
  • Prepare and manage documentation for all required tools, materials, and equipment related to assigned projects.
  • Interpret project drawings and specifications to structure and support effective project scheduling.
  • Review subcontractor schedules and provide timely feedback on performance and adherence to timelines.
  • Assist with daily project troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate all aspects of project planning, scheduling, and logistics.
  • Oversee daily procurement processes, including managing requisitions, obtaining quote approvals, and tracking packing slips and material deliveries.
  • Assist in preparing reports and documentation at various stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Support project teams in executing schedule-related strategies, as directed by management.
  • Perform QA/QC inspections and ensure compliance with quality standards, as needed.
  • Maintain and update weekly manpower load capacity and manpower schedules.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
