Job Description Onsite: Rosario Plant. What you will do (responsibilities): Fire Protection Systems Oversight Supervise the performance and operational condition of fire protection systems (automatic sprinklers, fire pumps, detection and alarm systems, deluge systems, etc.) in compliance with NFPA standards and Argentine regulations. Participate in “Fire Protection Adequacy” projects as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing technical guidance. Review engineering drawings for new installations or plant modifications to ensure alignment with GM standards. Risk Management & Compliance Conduct risk assessments for critical activities such as hot work, confined spaces, work at heights, and chemical storage areas. Manage Hot Work Permits and audit contractor documentation compliance on site. Maintain communication with external emergency response services when required. Emergency Response Leadership Serve as Leader of the Immediate Emergency Response Team when needed. Provide technical guidance on the use and operation of fire protection systems to personnel involved in daily site activities. Participate in emergency response planning and support the implementation of site-wide emergency plans, including collaboration with external emergency organizations. Coordinate and train the Emergency Response Team, ensuring technical readiness, required training hours, and mandatory certifications. Lead and deliver emergency response drills, simulations, and long-term preparedness plans with multifunctional teams across the site. Safety Culture & Auditing Lead internal audits (GMA/GMAS) related to Fire Protection. Promote a strong preventive safety culture aligned with GM values. Provide guidance on fire safety regulations, best practices, and emergency response frameworks, ensuring compliance with local laws. Lead training activities, awareness campaigns, and educational initiatives to empower employees and stakeholders with the necessary knowledge and skills for effective fire emergency response and crisis management. Develop, track, and maintain training content related to emergency preparedness, response, and recovery. Your skills and abilities (required qualifications): Education: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety with a valid professional license for Santa Fe. Experience: Several years of experience in Fire Protection within industrial or manufacturing facilities. Technical Knowledge: Mastery of NFPA standards and Argentine Occupational Health & Safety legislation. Technical expertise in fire protection system design and operation, including fire pumps and related life-safety systems. Location: Based in Rosario or nearby areas (Alvear, San Nicolás, Pueblo Esther). Technical Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Teams. Performance Metrics: Understanding and use of performance and safety metrics. What can give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications): Certifications: NFPA Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS), and/or NFPA Certified Water-Based Systems Professional (CWBSP).
