Due to growth EMCOR UK are currently recruiting for Senior Quantity Surveyors & Quantity Surveyors on our prestigious portfolio of customers in Data Centres, Defence and Communications across the UK, the positions are a mix of hybrid with travel across the region to site based. As the Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible for providing a consistent commercial framework for projects from pre-tender to final account, with a proactive approach to risk management and contract value optimisation.

What you you’ll do:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain fire safety policies and procedures in compliance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and any other relevant legislation.
  • Reporting of fire safety risk status, adequacy of mitigations and progress with FRA actions through reporting to functional leadership, service delivery group and fire safety governance forums.
  • Understand emerging fire safety risks and proactively work with the business to understand, document and mitigate those risks.
  • Provide input and insight to the BBC and relevant EMCOR governance forums to inform commercial decisions relating to fire safety.
  • Awareness and knowledge of new and emerging fire safety regulatory changes and report on the impact to the BBC.
  • Oversee fire risk assessments, document and manage corrective actions to mitigate fire hazards.
  • Liaise with Internal teams, local fire authorities and other relevant agencies to ensure compliance and best practices.
  • Investigate fire incidents and near misses, implementing lessons learned to prevent future occurrences.
  • Report on false alarm activations and work with suppliers, Facilities Managers and the Responsible Person to reduce activations.
  • Oversee the maintenance and management of fire safety records, including risk assessments and maintenance records.
  • Create and implement a training schedule and to ensure the Responsible Person and Fire Wardens are adequately trained in their fire safety role.
  • Assist in developing business continuity and emergency response plans in case of fire emergencies.
  • Advise on fire safety measures during project works or events, mitigating fire risks and ensuring project design meets relevant standards.

Location: Home based with UK wide travel
Salary: £55,000 + car allowance
Working Hours:0900 to 1700 Monday to Friday
