Description

Fire and security apprentice engineer
We are looking for a Dedicated young Person who desires an Apprenticship to work towards a being a member of the Mitie Fire & Security Systems Operations Field service team.
You’ll be expected to learn about, testing, inspection, repairs, and installation of Fire alarms, CCTV, Intruder alarm, access control and associated equipment and products to the relevant legislative and qualitative standards, alongside appropriate documentation and records in a timely and appropriate manner. You should have excellent communication skills, alongside basic Microsoft Word and Excel literacy and a full UK driving license.

The ideal candidate should have the drive to attend college and work towards a full modern apprentice. The candidate should also show a basic understanding of health and safety at the workplace. 3 year apprentice with full electronic fire and security Apprenticship qualification on completion of all required course work and assessment’s and on job training.

  • Assisting Senior / Local Engineer in the installation, service and small works of a variety of electronic security systems.
  • Assisting Senior / Local Engineer in the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive fault calls of a variety of electronic security systems.
  • To conduct yourself in a safe and diligent manner and comply with health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure current knowledge and understanding of health and safety regulations and procedures is maintained.
  • Working at heights.
  • Keep up to date, so far as necessary, for the efficient executing of your job, with new legislation, procedures and techniques.
  • To be conversant with and participate in activities and developments relevant to the post.
  • To act professionally at all times and maintain strict confidentiality and discretion at all times.
  • To undertake any other duties as may be reasonably required commensurate with the position.
