Description

Location: Norwich & Surrounding AreasSalary: £30,000 – £35,000 (depending on experience)Benefits: Company Van (with personal use) + Fuel Card | Overtime Pay | 28 Days Holiday | PensionJoin a Growing Fire & Security Team with Real Standards
We are a Norwich-based fire and security company with a fresh direction and strong ambition. After a recent leadership change, we’re rebuilding our technical team — the right way.
We’re looking for a Fire & Security Engineer who takes pride in doing the job properly. Someone who wants to work in a professional environment, be trusted to deliver quality installations and servicing, and enjoy long-term stability in a business that values detail and dependability over cutting corners.
If you’ve ever felt stuck in a “make-do” team with no real investment or standards, this role could be exactly what you’re looking for.
What You’ll Be Doing
This is a field-based role covering Norwich and wider East Anglia (as far as Cambridge), working mainly on commercial and public-sector sites.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Installing and maintaining CCTV, access control, fire alarm, and intruder alarm systems
  • Servicing emergency lighting and fire extinguishers
  • Fault-finding and completing remedial works
  • Completing all necessary commissioning and compliance paperwork
  • Collaborating with the office team and maintaining strong client communication
  • Identifying and upselling remedial opportunities when appropriate (no on-site quoting)

This is a balanced role — approx. 50% installations, 50% service and fault-finding.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years’ experience as a fire and security engineer
  • Strong knowledge of CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, and fire systems
  • Familiarity with brands such as Hikvision, Paxton, and Pyronix or similar
  • Comfortable with basic system config and commissioning
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Presentable, reliable, and capable of working independently

Nice to Have (but not required):

  • Experience with gate and barrier automation
  • Fire suppression knowledge (a future specialist role may open)

What We Offer

  • £30,000 – £35,000 salary, depending on experience and compliance knowledge
  • Company van + fuel card
  • Personal use permitted
  • Paid overtime opportunities
  • Overtime hrs available in weekdays
  • 1.5x pay on weekends
  • 28 days’ paid holiday (including bank holidays)
  • Workplace pension
  • No overnight stays
  • All stock and logistics managed by office — engineers focus on engineering
  • Digital job tools and structured compliance process

Why Work with Us?
We’re a growing company that’s serious about doing things properly. You won’t be micromanaged or left fixing other people’s mistakes. You’ll be trusted to get on with your work, backed by solid processes, a supportive office team, and a management team who know the industry.

This is a great role for someone who:

  • Wants a stable long-term role in a company with strong values
  • Enjoys varied work across commercial and public sites
  • Takes pride in first-time fix quality
  • Wants to be part of a team that’s being built around professionalism, not pressure
