JOB DESCRIPTION – FIRE & SECURITY TECHNICAL LEAD

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • FIA units (1,3,5)
  • Understanding of British Standards BS 5839 and BS 5266
  • Experience of BAFE SP203-1, BAFE SP101 and ISO 9001.
  • 5 years existing experience in fire, security, CCTV and access control systems.
  • 2 years’ experience in a supervisory position in a commercial FM setting.
  • Full UK driving license.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

An exciting opportunity has arisen with DMA Group for a Fire & Security Technical Lead (TL) to join our Engineering team, working throughout London. This is a new role for DMA Group as we are looking to bring our Fire and Security capacity, in house, so the TL role will be pivotal in the implementation of this.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As TL, there is a strong focus on technical delivery and an excellent understanding of client care. The TL will carry oversight on all service, routine maintenance, fault finding, repair and installation across the contract.

As a TL, duties will include but may not be limited to:

  • Working engineer 70-90% of the time.
  • Carrying out maintenance inspections, repairs and servicing of fire and security systems, in accordance with the correct codes and standard.
  • Carry out diagnostic fault finding and recommend necessary repair work.
  • Carry out programming of systems.
  • Carry out system demonstrations to customers, as required.
  • Read and interpret technical or installation drawings.
  • Building the BiO® checklists for Fire & Security.
  • Helping build and train a team of F&S engineers.
  • Assisting the monitoring and evaluation of existing and new F&S service partners.
  • Helping train non-technical people in the business about F&S.
  • Involvement in pricing and mobilisation to ensure asset data integrity.
  • Adopt a hands-on approach, offering direct assistance to engineers when additional help is required.
  • Optimise customer interaction and seek additional work opportunities.
  • Ensure the customer is updated with the status of outstanding and completed works.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal presentation with a confident, professional, and welcoming personality.
  • Ad hoc tasks as directed by line manager.
