Description:

Levitt-Safety has an exciting opportunity for an experienced technician to join our team as a Service Technician for Vehicle Fire Suppression Systems (VFSS) in Rocanville.
This opportunity offers a desired work schedule of 4 days weekly, 10 hours a day.

Your role will include diverse maintenance and repair activities including:

  • Inspecting, repairing, and providing maintenance of vehicle fire suppression systems and other types of Fire & Life Safety Equipment underground
  • Conducting life safety inspections and audits, with value-add suggestions for follow-up and maintenance
  • Performing site-specific training for owners and end users
  • Being the Face of Levitt-Safety for our customers and their onsite safety needs

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working in a mechanical shop or equivalent hands-on role with vehicles or other motorized equipment
  • Basic electrical knowledge and mechanical aptitude with experience working with power and hand tools
  • Experience, education, or training working with fire suppression systems is a strong asset
  • Comfortable working in underground mining operations
  • A valid drivers’ license and clean drivers abstract
  • Prior customer service experience and great communication skills
  • Able to work with technology and mobile devices
  • Must be comfortable working in underground mining operations
  • The ideal candidate will live in or around the Rocanville area or be willing to travel.
    Physical Safety Requirements

This is a physically demanding and safety-sensitive role involving various types of equipment and work environments. As such the following are core requirements for this role:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs unassisted, coupled with good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Physically able to work in restricted workspaces, including using ladders and walkways on large equipment
  • Able to pass pre-employment and periodic drug and alcohol testing as well as criminal background checks
  • Comfortable wearing a supplied air respirator
  • Must be able to travel for overnight and extended periods
