QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Completion of post-secondary education in Computer Science or other related discipline.
- Considerable experience working with server administration, computer aided dispatch systems, records management, corporate telephony (Avaya/Cisco), and mobile technologies. Candidates with an equivalent education and experience may be considered.
- A valid Class G drivers licence with a good driving record. Successful candidates will be required to provide a current driver’s abstract prior to their start date to confirm their licence is held in good standing and that it has not been suspended or revoked under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) or Criminal Code of Canada in the last 5 years. The City of Guelph will take into consideration the number of demerit points and/or nature of the infractions to determine if it meets our requirements.
- Experience with Windows, Microsoft Server operating systems, Active Directory, SQL, Motorola trunked radio systems and mobile technologies.
- Proven experience managing IT projects end-to-end, from initial planning and design through implementation and successful delivery of innovative solutions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders including all levels of staff, management, vendors, and the general public.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also contributing effectively within collaborative environments.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities, with a proven capacity to solve complex problems and make sound decisions in dynamic environments.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments in order to meet deadlines.
- Experience working with or in Emergency Services will be an asset.
- Certifications such as A+ Certification, MCSE, Avaya telephony, Cisco networking and telephony and ITIL would be an asset.
