State Fire is currently looking for a full-time Fire Sprinkler Apprentice in Salt Lake City, UT. During the Apprenticeship program you will be applying what you learn in the field with actual hands-on experience installing, repairing and maintaining all types of fire sprinkler systems. Your role as a Fire Sprinkler Apprentice will include the following responsibilities: · Installing, repairing and maintaining fire sprinkler systems. · Inspecting systems. · Reviewing and following plans and drawings. · Lifting and carrying pipe and fire sprinkler materials. · Following MSHA and OSHA safety requirements. · Studying and testing in AFSA program. This program involves a 4 year commitment once accepted. Requirements Qualifications: · No experience is necessary but must be trainable and willing to learn. · Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, with acceptable driving record. · Must have and maintain an acceptable national criminal background check. · Must be able to pass a pre-employment urinalysis test, and any further randomly selected tests. · Ability to communicate effectively in English. · Ability to work flexible hours and on-call, when necessary. Occasional overnight travel required. Physical Requirements: · Ability to sit, stand, kneel, crouch or stoop for prolonged periods. · Ability to operate a motor vehicle. · Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding and stairs. · Ability to move about in areas with limited space and difficult access. · Ability to safely lift, transport and place objects up to 70 pounds, without assistance. · Ability to work both indoors and outdoors. · Ability to use trade-specific power tools such as hand tools, saws, pipe cutters, etc. What we can offer you: · Industry specific or systems training (site and specific systems/equipment as needed). · Medical, Dental and Vision insurance options, with HSA match available. · 401K Retirement plan with company match. · Company paid 50K life insurance. · Paid Time Off · Competitive compensation.
