Peltram Plumbing, LLC has been a trusted leader in new construction plumbing for over 40 years. Our team is expanding, and we’re currently seeking a skilled, motivated, and detail-oriented Fire Sprinkler Designer with experience in 13D Residential Systems to join our growing team.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fire sprinkler system design, including experience with AutoSprink and AutoCAD, and a clear understanding of how design accuracy directly impacts field installation success. We’re looking for someone who is collaborative, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering high-quality, code-compliant construction plans.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Level 1 Certificate of Competency – WA State (required)
  • 2+ years of experience in fire sprinkler systems design (residential 13D experience preferred)
  • Proficient in AutoSprink and AutoCAD
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, and other productivity tools
  • Working knowledge of NFPA codes, especially NFPA 13D
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently or in a collaborative team environment

Responsibilities
  • Design residential 13D fire protection sprinkler systems using AutoSprink and AutoCAD
  • Review contract drawings and specifications to determine optimal design methods
  • Create and submit permit submittals, hydraulic and seismic calculations, and material submittals to AHJs and general contractors
  • Generate fabrication reports and installation drawings for field teams
  • Coordinate sprinkler piping layouts with other MEP trades using lay-over or BIM software
  • Survey job sites and provide field support during installation
  • Communicate design changes impacting project scope, schedule, or budget to estimators/project managers
  • Respond to AHJ inquiries during permitting process
  • Maintain strong internal and external communication to ensure smooth handoffs and project execution
  • Provide close-out documentation upon project completion
