Job Description Summary: MES is seeking a Service Technician in Bloomington, IL. In this role you'll be responsible for installing, inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire protection equipment in various facilities. This position is vital in safeguarding lives and property. Roles and Responsibilities: Installation: Install, repair, and maintain fire protection equipment in accordance with industry standards and local regulations. Inspection and Testing: Conduct routine inspections and tests of fire protection equipment to ensure proper functioning. Identify and rectify any issues or malfunctions promptly. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot problems in fire protection equipment. Compliance: Ensure all installed systems comply with relevant fire codes, regulations, and safety standards. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, repairs, and installations. Generate reports as needed for clients, authorities, or internal use. Customer Communication: Communicate effectively with clients to explain the status of their fire protection equipment, address concerns, and provide recommendations for improvements. Requirements Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong mechanical aptitude Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience servicing and maintaining HVAC equipment/systems, small engine repair, firefighting equipment, cabling, and working as a mechanic, electrician, or having experience with hydraulics. Relevant experience in installing, inspecting, and maintaining fire protection equipment. Desired Characteristics: Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately Excellent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot technical issues Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Good communication skills to interact with clients professionally and effectively Physical Requirements: Able to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs.) Manual dexterity to work with small parts Physical fitness and the ability to work in various environments.
