POSITION TITLE: Firewatch REPORTS TO: Mill Services Manager A fire watch is the person or persons responsible for continuously observing hot work activity to detect and respond to fires during hot work operations. Primary Responsibilities: * Ensuring firefighting equipment is ready * Keeping the area free of combustible materials * Watching for sparks, slag, or heat sources * Warning workers if there's an excessive risk of fire * Extinguishing small fires immediately * Calling emergency services if necessary * Handling components, modules, and systems of heavy equipment * Converting heavy equipment with various mobile accessories * Observing relevant safety, accident prevention, and environmental regulations * Perform routine and Pre/ Post Trip inspections and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or repairs to the supervisor. * Clean equipment * Maintain and protect all property. * Maintain all required certifications required by OSHA and company safety programs. * Provide outstanding customer service operations. * Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations. EDUCATION * High School Diploma or GED * Phoenix on-site training as required REQUIRED SKILLS * Ability to kneel, crawl, bend, and or climb without assistance * Able to lift up to 50lbs * Ability to work in extreme heat or cold weather/environmental conditions * Compliance with all Phoenix Global Safety Policies & Procedures, including wearing specific Personal Protective Equipment required for various job functions. * Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical & drug screen. * Must be willing to work assigned shift PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
