The Peninsula Airport Commission is currently accepting applications for Fire Fighter to join our team at the Newport News Williamsburg International Airport.

Job Duties:

• Maintaining readiness for emergency call response
• Responding to fire, medical, and related emergency calls when dispatched and take proper action
• Educating staff and public on fire safety/prevention and performing other tasks related to Airport Fire Department activities

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be physically able to operate a variety of machines, tools and equipment which includes a motor vehicle, computer, generator, fire pump, fire hydrant, axe, shovel, hydraulic tools, power tools, hand tools, medical equipment, etc.
• At least 3 years of experience as a career, volunteer, or military firefighter
• High school diploma or GED
• Possession of a valid Virginia driver’s license
• Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting experience preferred
• Special Certifications:
• NFPA 1001 Firefighter II (ProBoard, DOD or IFSAC)
• NFPA 472 Hazardous Materials Operations
• Current Virginia EMT-B
