DESCRIPTION:

This position is an integral part of the resort F&B team. You will be responsible for supervising the daily operations of the Fireside Café, serving up gourmet coffees through the course of the day and our finest selection of wines when après hour calls, in one of our newest outlets. Independent leadership ability, strong communication skills and a passion for great customer service will be essential to your success in this position.
You have an attitude to complete tasks and projects while contributing to our resort goals. This is a diverse position that requires flexibility in your approach as the seasons change in our resort. The schedule for this position also fluctuates to meet the demands of our guests and needs of the management team. Your time will be spent working the floor, improving, and exceeding the high standards we offer our guests. While this will be your primary focus you will also be accountable for some administrative tasks within this role. From time to time you may be called upon to assist in other areas of our department.

EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:

• Serving It Right and Food Safe Level One certifications are required.
• Barista experience is considered a strong asset.
• Several years experience in food and beverage.
• Minimum (1) years supervisory F&B experience in high volume operations.
• Strong verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong computer literacy especially with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Experience with F&B POS system named Profitek is a considerably strong asset.
• Must be willing to work more than 40 hours/week as needed.
• Able to be on feet throughout a ten-hour day.

• Lead by example and develop a vibrant team that always delivers industry best service and product quality.
• Train employees in all standard operating procedures of the café.
• Uphold PMV and outlet policies and in conjunction with Employee Experience discipline employees as required.
• Deliver Standard Operating Procedures such as the following:
• Exceeding Health & Safety regulations as required by the Interior Health.
• Ensure our system for securing all store rooms and fridge / freezer areas to prevent theft are being completed.
• Ensure Workplace Safety Standards are being consistently achieved.
• Work directly with your superior to ensure tracking systems are in place to monitor product sold in your area to ensure our COGS targets are achieved.
• Participate in required operational meetings as directed.
• As a leader you will effectively communicate with all management, employees, guests, and anyone PMV does business with. To be specific PMV defines effective communication as communication which is accurate, respectful, solves problems or issues, achieves goals, impresses guests, develops inspired employees, and overall enhances the PMV brand.
• Ensure property, facilities and equipment remains in good repair and appearance.
• Maintain clean and orderly workplace. Develop and execute a plan for deep cleaning to promote clean work areas and preventative maintenance.
• Engage employees, encourage them to come up with items and ideas to benefit the resort, and act on them. Share customer comments with all staff through effective two-way communication. Stimulate and develop positive morale and team spirit that will lead to high productivity.
• Act like an owner – treat the operation as if it were your own by working to increase sales and guest experience.
• Schedule employees to ensure full coverage of the Café needs. Adjust staffing levels according to business volumes and budgets.
• Approve Fireside Café employee shifts in Dayforce prior to weekly payroll cutoff.
