Are you interested in creating secure, scalable solutions that protect millions of connected devices globally? At F-Secure, we are developing SENSE, a smart home cybersecurity product that safeguards devices ranging from smartphones and computers to IoT products like smart TVs, gaming consoles, and baby monitors.
We are looking for a Router Firmware Developer to join our team, take ownership of key components, and contribute to the development of connected home security solutions. This role is aligned with F-Secure’s values of curiosity, collaboration, and continuous learning.
You will work closely with product, cloud, and engineering teams, reporting to the Embedded Connected Home Security R&D Manager
What is F-Secure SENSE?
SENSE is designed to protect all internet-enabled devices in the home from cyber threats. It secures not only computers and phones but also IoT devices like smart TVs, baby monitors, and more. The SENSE solution includes:
An agent integrated with target routers.
Apps for Android and iOS platforms.
Cloud services that provide additional layers of security.

What you’ll be working on?
Maintenance and improvement of existing systems.
Developing and maintaining router software/firmware features.
Driving innovation in software unification and scalability.
Writing various types of tests, using and maintaining CICD pipelines.
API creation for management and configuration.
Mitigation of emerging security threats.
Ownership of specific service components within the architecture.
Contributing to building technology supporting diverse router operating systems and hardware.
What we’re looking for
Proficiency in C++ and Linux systems.
Experience with Linux container microservices.
Interest in DevOps and agile methodologies.
Experience of working with different network protocols.
Experience of working with different CPU architecture such as ARM, MIPS etc.
Experience of working with Python ecosystem, machine learning is a plus.
What makes you stand out
Familiarity with scalable system design and distributed teams.
Knowledge of container systems like LXC or similar technologies.
