In this role, you will be responsible for the requirements definition, design, development, test, integration, and support of embedded software (e.g. operating system software, device drivers, software frameworks, algorithmic libraries etc) and software development tools (compilers, simulators, IDEs, etc.). You will be responsible for following established software development methodology and practices defined for their business, for support of pre-silicon design and requirements as well as software validation activities. This includes impacting hardware architecture requirements from a software usage, compatibility, performance, and reuse potential perspectives. You will also be responsible for creation and maintenance of customer collateral for software products and deliverables. You will be working closely with TI teams (silicon, hardware, software teams) and customers as part of the normal software life-cycle. The responsibilities may also include quality assurance and configuration/release management. The engineer must keep management informed regarding technical issues and problems and to the extent possible proposing solutions to correct the problems. The Software Systems Engineer adds application system requirements definition, system specification, SoC (system on a chip) requirements definition. The Engineer identifies, analyzes, resolves system design weaknesses and influences the shaping of future products by contributing to the framework (architecture) used across multiple products or systems.
