The 1st Cook is reporting to the Executive Chef. As a full time team member, it is required to have an open availability without any restrictions. The working hours be as early as 4am and will vary from days, evenings and weekdays/weekend shifts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 2 years experience in a hotel culinary setting is a definite asset and/or 5 years Fine Dining culinary experience.
  • Must possess Red Seal or equivalent.
  • Must possess FoodSafe Level 1 certificate.
  • Excellent culinary skills and cooking knowledge.
  • Self starter, takes initiative, positive attitude and leadership skills.
  • Desire to work in a team based environment.

Responsibilities
  • Preparation and production of menu items for catering, banquets, dining room & room service.
  • Ensure that sanitation, hygiene and safety standards for proper food storage and handling are met.
  • Ensure a safe working environment through proper use of equipment, being proactive in accident prevention and diligent in eliminating safety hazards.
  • Communicate with Culinary management team on a regular basis to discuss products and inventory requests.
  • Other duties as assigned.
