The Boeing Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers (MS&B) Electromagnetic Effects (EME) Group is seeking a First-Level Electromagnetic Effects Engineering Manager in Oklahoma City, OK.
This engineering management position will be responsible for leading the engineering team that provides Electromagnetic Effects technical expertise for the MS&B business unit. The selected candidate will provide leadership for a multitude of air and space platforms recognized around the world. This position will lead a customer focused team providing direct specialty engineering support.

Management responsibilities include mentoring and coaching all levels of engineers to guide knowledge transfer to our next generation of technical leaders and engineers. Additional management responsibilities include managing resources and taskings for the daily engineering assignments that deal with Boeing Military Aircraft, Military Derivative Aircraft and Rotorcraft (AEW&C, AWACS, C-32/C-40, E-4B, VC-25A, KC-767, E-6, AC-130U, B-1B, B-2, B-52, V-22, and others) and other diverse projects. The area of focus for these engineering assignments will be in supplier and partner qualification data, Nuclear Hardening analysis and test, EMI/C analysis and test, TEMPEST/EMSEC analysis and test, HIRF/Lightning analysis and test, Antenna Coupling analysis, Test Automation for aircraft modifications, and a few others.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • Experience with Electromagnetic concepts (such as RF isolation, shielding, grounding, and filtering).
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time (approximately once a month).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • An ABET-accredited BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or an MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering.
  • Active U.S. Security Clearance.
  • Previous experience in the defense or aerospace industry.
  • Previous experience in Electromagnetic Effects.
  • Previous experience in Management.
  • Knowledge of digital signal processing.
  • Familiarity with Software tools: LTSpice, System Vision, PSPICE, MathCAD, AutoCAD, and/or Siemens Capital Logic.
  • Experience with MS Office tool suite.
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations (verbal and/or written) to key stakeholders.
  • Excellent communications skills, verbal and written.
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of management, customers, and partners.
  • Master of Science in an engineering discipline.
  • Previous management experience.
  • Ability to build a safe environment of inclusion, transparency, and trust.
  • Leadership skills to lead and influence positive outcomes.
  • Previous experience in leading, mentoring, and engaging individuals and teams.
  • Experience providing active mentorship and career guidance.

Responsibilities

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage resources, processes, program support, and Electronic & Electrical Engineering (E&EE) Functional participation in a manner that supports successful Program execution.
  • Develop and implement viable schedules and resource plans along with effective coordination and communication with all BDS, BGS, BR&T, ET&T and BCA site projects regarding all phases of EME design and support.
  • Manage a diverse workforce and coordinate resources across multiple programs at multiple sites.
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.
  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.
  • Lead team in continuous process improvements including application of Lean+ principles.
  • Manage, develop, and motivate diverse employees and regularly meet one-on-one with each employee.
  • Manage employees performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of E&EE.
  • Develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures, and set operational goals.
  • Acquire resources for projects and processes, provide technical management of suppliers, and lead process improvements.
