JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a reliable and technically skilled First Line IT Support and Repair Technician to join our in-shop support team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for customers and businesses seeking technical assistance and will also perform basic hardware diagnostics, software troubleshooting, and device repairs in a workshop/retail environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience in a technical support or computer repair role (1+ year preferred).
  • Good understanding of Windows and macOS operating systems.
  • Familiarity with hardware components and basic repair techniques.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to diagnose issues methodically and explain solutions clearly.
  • Basic knowledge of networking and internet connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Relevant IT certifications (Microsoft) are a plus.
  • Driving Licence required.
  • Ability to work in a family-led small team
Responsibilities
  • Provide front-line technical support to customers in-person, via phone, and email.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve common hardware and software issues on PCs, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
  • Log all support requests and update ticketing systems with progress and resolution details.
  • Perform hardware diagnostics and basic repairs, such as replacing hard drives, RAM, screens, and keyboards.
  • Install, configure, and update software, operating systems, and antivirus programs.
  • Provide clear and helpful technical advice to customers with varying levels of IT knowledge.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe repair workspace.
  • Assist in inventory management and stock control.
  • Escalate complex or unresolved issues to higher-level support or specialist technicians.
