FIRST NATIONS (NIITSITAPI), MÉTIS and INUIT FACILITATOR – Father Leonard Van Tighem School
This position is open to all internal and external candidates. Prior to employment, successful applicants must provide supporting documents as outlined on our page.
We are looking to hire a temporary 35.0 hour per week First Nations (Niitsitapi), Métis and Inuit Facilitator to serve students at Father Leonard Van Tighem School in Lethbridge. This assignment is to commence as soon as possible and terminate December 19, 2025. This is an out of scope position.

The First Nations (Niitsitapi), Métis and Inuit Facilitator supports the implementation of School Division priorities in the area of First Nations, Métis and Inuit education, through the provision of services and supports to students, parents, and staff as members of our Holy Spirit community. Under the leadership of the Director of Religious Education and Coordinator of First Nations, Métis and Inuit Education, but reporting to the school principal, the First Nations (Niitsitapi), Métis and Inuit Facilitator guides both students and staff. They do this by facilitating relationships, responding to student needs, monitoring student progress and achievement, and supporting the integration of First Nations, Métis and Inuit culture, language, and content. We are seeking an individual who:

  • Works collaboratively with colleagues to support First Nations, Métis and Inuit education for all;
  • Demonstrates high energy and initiative while engaging youth and staff in learning experiences about First Nations, Métis and Inuit history, culture, language, and traditions;
  • Assists our community to celebrate and take pride in First Nations, Métis and Inuit culture and heritage;
  • Acts as a compassionate role model while holding high expectations for self and students;
  • Demonstrates resourcefulness and excellent communication skills;
  • Collaborates with staff, administration and community members to make a positive difference in the learning success of First Nations, Métis and Inuit students;
  • Acts as liaison between home and school to build strong relationships with parents and caregivers.

This position requires the successful candidate to have a valid driver’s license.
