Job Description
The First Officer reports to the Halifax EMS Base Manager. This position offers the successful candidate the opportunity to become an integral part of the EHS LifeFlight, Nova Scotia aviation team. A high level of professionalism is required in regards to client relations as well as interrelations in and out of the aircraft. Challenging aviation weather routinely presents itself to pilots operating in the Maritimes. Finally, a firm appreciation of the unique nature of the EHS LifeFlight culture and our multi-faceted role, defines the requirements for an EMS First Officer.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a pilot as per EMS operation standards;
  • Any other responsibility related to the position

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Hold a valid Commercial Rotary-wing License;
  • Have a valid ATPL or have passed ATPL written exams within the previous 12 months;
  • Have 500 hours Rotary-wing time;
  • Hold a valid Group 4 Instrument Rating;
  • Valid Class 1 Medical;
  • Possess unrestricted Night Rating;
  • Hold a valid Canadian Passport or work visa prior to hire;
  • Ability to successfully complete the Controlled Goods Security Assessment application for NVG purposes;
  • Have the right to travel to the United States;
  • Possess previous Night / IFR flying experience in the Maritime environment is an asset.
  • An interview with representatives of EHS LifeFlight is a formal and integral part of the selection process. EHS LifeFlight approval of the candidate is a requirement of the position and any final hiring decision is strictly conditional on such approval;
  • EHS LifeFlight has a mandatory helmet policy;
  • EHS has a crew Weight Policy, the details of which will be explained in detail to potential candidates;
  • A Criminal record search will be conducted prior to hire.
  • Immunization records with required vaccinations are mandatory.

Additional Information
Remuneration: Competitive, depending on experience.
Schedule: 12 hour-shifts: 2 days / 2nights / 4 off
