Why this role matters
The Salvation Army Australia’s Homelessness Stream provides high quality, person centred services to people at risk, and or experiencing homelessness. We support adults and families, including accompanying children with accommodation, case management, outreach support, financial assistance, connection and referral to other specialist services.
About the role
The Concierge will play a vital role in creating a welcoming environment that reflects the mission of The Salvation Army.
The role will effectively manage the reception area and assist with incoming phone calls, with a focus on excellent service delivery. This includes welcoming and providing initial assistance to visitors who attend the reception area; monitoring people entering and exiting the building; helping visitors seeking support, including initial brief intervention and support and referring to appropriate persons or services.
This position also provides administrative support and liaison with various stakeholders within the community.

You will successfully

  • Community members, emergency service provides and visitors accessing the service are provided with a welcoming and responsive initial contact, and any urgent and immediate needs are addressed
  • All visitors are provided with necessary support, guidance and assistance in line with site procedures
  • Answer Incoming calls and provide brief intervention to community members, including, initial assessment and screening, information sharing and referrals.
  • Monitor of First Response inbox and respond accordingly.
  • In consultation with more senior worker/s appropriate preventative action is taken in relation to potential high-risk situations

You will have

  • Certificate IV qualification in Community Services or related field with relevant experience or demonstrated equivalent experience, knowledge and skills.
  • First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • A Working with Children is required

This is a permanent, full-time position located in Spring Hill, QLD. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services CRISIS Level 1 Award.
