Description POPPY Handcrafted Popcorn is growing and we're looking for future employees who love popcorn! The First Shift Production Associate is responsible for executing a variety of tasks surrounding popcorn production in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This position is responsible for the production and supporting tasks of the kitchen and packaging through the completion of daily and weekly production goals. The Production Associate will be assigned to various roles within the Production Department as needs arise. Responsibilities may include operation of industrial kitchen equipment, packaging equipment, dish cleaning, and general custodial duties, while working closely with other team members. It is important that the Production Associate enjoys and is comfortable working as part of a team, has acute attention to detail, and works well with similar daily routines. Responsibilities Safely operating equipment according to manufacturer’s instruction to produce popcorn products Maintaining company Food Safety and Quality standards Reporting any and all safety and/or quality concerns to management Adhering to daily schedule and informing the Lead of any challenges or roadblocks that impeded workflow or required a shift in tasks Follow recipes to make popcorn to company specifications while following food safety guidelines Operate one or more sets of equipment including, but not limited to, popcorn poppers, caramel popcorn kettles, and popcorn tumblers while following appropriate safety measures and food safety guidelines Multitask while working as a team, assist other production cooks with prep work, and operate one or more machines to maintain efficiency Transfer finished product to appropriate area for packaging Ensure that product being made and handled meets standards of quality and communicate with direct supervisor of any quality issues Assist in the setup, breakdown, and cleaning of the station including thorough cleaning and special projects as needed while following food safety guidelines Complete all required documentation for tracking accomplishments, waste, quality assurance, sanitation and all other checklists as assigned May be required to rotate to various departments in the production facility as needed Communicating with the Managers/Leads regarding any issues, material needs, or questions regarding training or work assignments Attend all safety, production and regular team meetings Effectively receiving and applying feedback Adherence to Poppy’s safety standards and protocols Adherence to Poppy’s Attendance Policy Professional & effective communication with all team members; must understand English Perform other duties as assigned Reports To Production Manager Will receive instruction and training from Leads Estimated Weekly Hours 40+ First shift hours, 7am-330pm, M-F Overtime as required This a full-time, permanent position, eligible for benefits, including 3 weeks of vacation. Requirements Food prep experience (preferred but not required) Strong preference for production / manufacturing experience Positive attitude and ability to work as a part of a team Ability to multitask while maintaining a calm and collected demeanor Strong work ethic Understand English Physical Demands Extensive physical exertions which includes but are not limited to: Standing for extended periods Ability to lift 50 lbs as needed Repetitive bending, lifting, and hand/arm movements, lift overhead Wear required PPE
