Description

Plymouth Argyle Football Club are looking for the third First Team Performance Analyst to join them in the Analyst Department. This is an additional, new role to the team to support video capture, live coding, data analysis, opposition scouting, and presentation development for first-team training and match preparation. Working closely with performance staff and coaches to deliver actionable insights to enhance on-field performance. Purpose of the job will also centre around taking more control around training & set-piece analysis to further aid coaches and the coaching process.

The position will involve working irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, and will be required to travel to all first team matches and training camps.

  • A good working knowledge of all appropriate performance data sources including Wyscout , OPTA, StatsBomb etc

  • Use of data and statistical evidence to aid the improvement of individual player performance.

  • Use of data to provide insights into opposition styles of play.
  • To deliver, support and improve the department’s pre, during and post-performance analysis model
  • Pre – Coding next opponent’s matches, provide penalty analysis, film and clip training sessions. Production of game plan presentation for use by technical staff in pre match meetings and individual discussions.
  • During – Film/live code, provide data analysis of team KPIs at half and full time
  • Post – Develop a library of good practice, provide individual clips, provide data analysis of individual performance.
  • Attendance at MDT meetings as required by the HoF
  • Attendance at all first team matches and training events including pre-season.
  • Contributing to the budget setting process for the Football Performance Analytics sub department, including
  • Hardware requirements
  • Software/licensing requirements
  • Helping to manage and maintain the agreed budget within the Football Performance Analytics department
  • Ensuring any additional costs are appropriately authorised prior to cost commitment.
  • Production and delivery of next match performance analysis presentation.
  • Production and delivery of half-time data and insights presentation.
  • Ad hoc data / presentation requirements as agreed with HoF/Head Coach
  • Production and distribution of clips as required by technical/other staff
