SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of the Children and Families First Director, the Fiscal Administrator provides leadership in fiscal operations and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local fiscal requirements. The position is responsible for developing, monitoring, and reconciling budgets; overseeing fiscal forecasting and expenditure tracking; ensuring compliance with grant and program regulations; and preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports for both internal and external stakeholders. The Fiscal Administrator must demonstrate advanced knowledge of accounting principles, governmental budgeting, and fiscal regulations related to children and family service programs. This position requires proficiency in fiscal analysis, grant reporting, and compliance monitoring, as well as strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills. The Fiscal Administrator acts as a fiscal advisor to the Director and provides technical assistance to program managers. Proficiency in personal computers, financial management systems, and related software is required, ability to get along well with others, regular attendance and other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, public administration, or a closely related field is required
  • Master’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or public administration is strongly preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible fiscal or accounting experience in government, nonprofit, or the public sector. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered
  • Demonstrated experience in grant management, budget preparation, and compliance with state and federal funding requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function/duty satisfactorily. For initial and ongoing employment eligibility, an applicant must successfully pass a criminal background check, possess and maintain a valid Ohio vehicle operator’s license with no restrictions, and be eligible for and maintain eligibility for coverage under the existing Lorain County vehicle insurance policy.
