About the Climate Finance Capacity Support Programme DT Global delivers the Capacity Support Programme for MFAT. The scope of this programme is quite broad as it aims to be responsive to the needs of Pacific Island countries. It includes providing personnel or training to assist with: Delivering and reporting on the flexible finance provided by MFAT; Developing/updating national climate change plans and reporting frameworks; Developing an investment-ready pipeline of projects; Delivering climate change priorities; Improving climate finance reporting; and Accessing a broader range of climate funding. For more information, please see www.cfcsp.org.nz About the Role The scope of services for the role of the Fisheries Economist/Planner (Short-term Consultant) is primarily centred on leading and supporting the Marshall Islands Marine Resources Authority (MIMRA) in the technical development, formulation, and implementation planning of a comprehensive FNAP. The FNAP must be an integrating document that aligns existing planning frameworks, ensuring consistency across the National Adaptation Plan (NAP), the National Strategic Plan (NSP), and the MIMRA Strategic Plan. About You Advanced degree in marine science, fisheries management, environmental science, climate change adaptation, economics or related field. Minimum of five years of experience in fisheries management, climate change adaptation, or a related field. Demonstrated experience in conducting vulnerability assessments and developing adaptation plans. Strong understanding of the UNFCCC NAP process and guidelines. Familiarity with the RMI fisheries sector, including coastal and community fisheries. Excellent communication and facilitation skills. Desirable Experience working in SIDS. Knowledge of traditional knowledge and practices related to fisheries management in the RMI. Fluency in Marshallese.
