Description

Leads programs and services, such as physical fitness and wellness programs, recreational programs and social activities, including the operation and maintenance of recreational facilities. The Manager shall actively engage with customers regarding programs and events and shall encourage participation. The Manager shall be present at events to effectively manage and monitor the programs.
Identify equipment needs and/or reductions and may recommend items for remodeling and repairing of facility, and upkeep of equipment. Review ideas and implements new services or programs or implements improvements to existing services or programs. Schedule events reflective of community needs to maximize participation.
The Manager will have complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards. Full knowledge of industry practices.
Prepares marketing materials as directed by the Site Manager to ensure all customer requirements are satisfied and all schedules are met.
As acting Alternate Site Manager, is responsible for meeting Contractor’s work requirements, including scheduling of personnel, work supervision, and quality control. The Assistant Site Manager have full authority to act for the Contractor relating to daily contract operation in the absence of the Site Manager.

Responsibilities will include :

  • Oversee successful operations of 24-hour Fitness Center and fitness & sports program ensuring all PWS requirements are maintained.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the facility ensuring a clean, sanitary, presentable, professional work area free of dirt, debris, clutter, trash and dust.
  • Create and submit a tentative quarterly (3 month) planning calendar to be provided to the COR
  • Oversee cleaning, maintenance and repairs of all fitness equipment related to the fitness program.
  • Ensure the minimum number of required tournaments, special events, fitness incentive programs, and aerobics/strength training classes IAW government requirements.
  • Assist with other facilities or departments as needed to ensure mission success.
  • Coordinate between eight (8) and ten (10) special sports events each month such as weekly tournaments for sports other than the current league sport, and competitions such as weightlifting, 5k and 10k fun runs
  • Monitor all OCN staff associated with the department and if needed other departments.
  • Ensure Fitness Equipment Preventative Maintenance services are completed IAW the PWS.
  • Assemble and perform all operation checks and warranty services on fitness equipment IAW manufacturer’s guidelines. The Contractor shall ensure at least 95% of equipment inventory is operational for use at all times.
  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual preventive maintenance, adjustments, and repair
  • Identify and make recommendations for repair or replacement of equipment
  • Obtain all needed replacement parts required to keep fitness equipment running to manufacturer’s standards.
  • Establish and properly maintain a small bench stock to ensure fitness equipment maintenance and repairs are not delayed due to lack of parts at least 95 percent of the time
  • Ensure preventive maintenance and repairs on all Government Fitness Equipment are completed by certified technicians
  • The ASM shall ensure that personnel assigned to all tasks have the requisite knowledge and skills to meet minimum performance requirements and comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • The ASM shall document all training by name, training and date and make these records available to the COR or designated representative upon request.
  • The ASM shall be available within four (4) hours to meet on the installation with Government personnel (designated by the ACO) to discuss focus areas

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Intermediate to expert level of all Microsoft products including Excel, Word, and Power Point.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Six (6) years’ experience managing services contracts inclusive of recreational, fitness, escort, maintenance, food/beverage and linen services.
  • Intermediate to expert level of all Microsoft products including Excel, Word, and Power Point
  • Five (5) years’ experience supervising and managing DoD sports and fitness programs or eight (8) years’ experience of comparable civilian profession.
  • Two (2) years of experience developing graphics for marketing, publicity and advertising.
  • Knowledge of marketing tools inclusive of but not exclusive to web-based applications, Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Valid CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Valid Fitness/Personal Trainer Certification.
  • Valid Group Fitness Instructor Certification.
  • Ability to officiate four (4) core sports inclusive of but not exclusive to flag-football, soccer, volleyball, and basketball.
  • Valid US Driver’s License
  • Valid US Passport
    Security Clearance: Must have and maintain an U.S. Secret Clearance.
