  POSITION TITLE:             Fitter (Structural & Pipe)                      JOB CODE:                         FITR DIVISION:                             Onshore/Offshore/International REPORTS TO:                    Foreman/Supervisor/Superintendent DEPARTMENT:                  Onshore/Offshore/International POSITION SUMMARY The Fitter is responsible for cutting and fitting pipe or structural materials for welders.  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (This is a representative list of the duties the position may be asked to perform and is not intended to be all-inclusive.) * Align parts using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars and hammers * Mark reference points onto floor or face block and transpose them to workpiece * Give directions to welder to build up low spots or short pieces with weld * Straighten warped or bent parts using sledge, hand torch, straightening press or bulldozer * Remove high spots and cut bevels using hand files, portable grinders and cutting torch * Examine blueprints and plan sequence of operation, applying knowledge of geometry, effects of heat, weld shrinkage, machining and metal thickness * Tack weld fitted parts together * Position or tighten braces, jacks, clamps, ropes, bolt straps or bolt parts in position for welding * Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings and related equipment according to specifications by welding, brazing, cementing, soldering and threading joints * Put all information on the pipe before cutting and transfer all item numbers onto cut sheet and carry over item numbers to drop pipe * Ensure all numbers are clear and point to the right material when fabricating spool sheets * Check measurements to assure they match with drawing and obtain approval from quality control department * Inspect, examine and test installed systems and pipe lines using pressure gauges, hydrostatic testing, observation or other methods * Plan pipe system layout, installation or repair according to specifications * Read and understand blue prints and ISO’s * Obey and follow all safety rules and policies * Wear all appropriate safety equipment (PPE) * Perform all other duties as assigned by manager and/or supervisor   MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS  * High School diploma or equivalent education * 1+ years of fitting experience in an industrial setting * Basic written and verbal skills * Must have the ability to perform work accurately * Must be reliable and have good time management skills * For new hires, must meet all Performance Energy Services employment qualifications in force at time of hiring, including successful completion of a background investigation and pre-employment drug screen * For new hires, must successfully complete all required training by Performance Energy Services PHYSICAL DEMANDS * Stand – Frequently * Sit – Occasionally * Use Hands – Constantly * Climb – Occasionally * Kneel – Frequently * Lift/Carry over – Frequently (up to 50 lbs.) * Vision – Required (Must be able to pass vision exam per appropriate medical requirements) * Hearing – Required (Must be able to pass an audio test per OSHA standards)   WORKING CONDITIONS * Wet or Humid (non-weather) – Occasionally * Working near moving mechanical parts – Frequently * Working in high places – Occasionally * Exposed to fumes or airborne particles – Constantly * Exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals – Occasionally * Outdoor weather conditions – Constantly * Risk of electric shock – Frequently * Work with explosives – None * Risk of radiation – Occasionally * Noise Level – Very Loud   ACKNOWLEDGMENT   I have reviewed and understand the above job description and believe it to be accurate and complete.
