About the Role
We are looking for a skilled General Fitter to join our service team. The role involves carrying out inspections, servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of heavy plant machinery, trucks, and vehicles. You will ensure all equipment is maintained to the highest standard, minimising downtime and supporting the safe, reliable operation of our fleet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain, and repair plant equipment, trucks, and vehicles
  • Perform fault finding, diagnostics, and breakdown repairs both in the workshop and on-site
  • Carry out preventative maintenance to reduce breakdowns and extend equipment life
  • Inspect and test mechanical systems, hydraulics, and engines for proper performance
  • Ensure accurate completion of job cards, service reports, and maintenance records
  • Adhere to workplace health and safety standards, ensuring all equipment is safe and compliant
  • Work closely with operators and site teams to deliver fast, effective service

Skills & Qualifications

  • Trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic / Plant Fitter / Mechanical Fitter (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience maintaining and repairing plant machinery, trucks, or heavy vehicles
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving ability with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including call-out or field service when required
  • Current driver’s licence (HR/MC licence highly regarded)
  • Commitment to safety and quality workmanship

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $77,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
