Mount Isa Mines are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Fitter, in the Zinc Lead Concentrator, Maintenance Team at Mount Isa Mines.
This position is residentially based in Mount Isa, working a family friendly 4/4/4/2

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will provide effective maintenance in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner to ensure that production and statutory requirements are met. This is an excellent opportunity to further your experience and develop your technical skills and industry knowledge. This is a diverse role with the ability to grow and develop your career in a fast paced, highly focused team of trades and non-trades personnel troubleshooting and repairing defects while maintaining safety and holding the Glencore values.
You will be tasked to work alongside the Shift team on a large variety of plant and equipment across the entire Zinc Lead concentrator, focusing on plant reliability and safe, efficient repairs of critical equipment, keeping the plant online and running to optimum capabilities.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Site repairs of processing equipment including conveyors, flotation/filtration systems, feed pumps, SAG and ball mills as well as the lubrication systems
Scoping jobs and developing work packs
Completion of projects to deliver continuous and safety improvements for the maintenance teams.
The successful candidate will have:
Trade qualification – Fitter (Mechanical) essential
Current manual driver’s license, Forklift ticket, basic rigger/doggers and EWP tickets would be an advantage
Experience within mining/heavy industry environment
Sound computer skills
A demonstrated commitment to safety
A self-motivated attitude and enjoy working in small yet highly productive teams.
The ability to adapt to change in duties from day to day.
