Karara Mining Limited (KML) is an Ansteel Group company formed as a joint venture with Gindalbie Metals Limited. Ansteel is one of the largest iron ore producers and steel makers in China. Located 200km south-east of Geraldton, Western Australia, Karara is the largest mining operation and the first major magnetite mine in the Mid-West. It produces a premium, high-grade concentrate product for export to steelmakers.

The opportunityWe are looking for skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitters to become a part of our Maintenance team at the Geraldton Karara Export Terminal. The position will encompass both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities, as well as assist in planning and defining the scope of work for maintenance tasks, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

This residential role operates on 8 days, and 6 days off / 7 days on and 7 days off roster.

**We are not accepting applications from overseas, this position is residential and requires candidates to be based in the Geraldton area** No visa sponsorship is available.

• To be successful in the role, the following is essential:Mechanical Trade Qualification
• WA ‘C’ Class Drivers’ License
• Tickets - Dogging (DG) Basic Rigging (RB) Elevated Work Platform (WP)
• Confined Space Entry & Working at heights
• Demonstrated post trade experience in the Mining or Heavy industry within a process plant environment
• Strong understanding of scheduled maintenance systems and work order process
• Demonstrated ability to undertake problem solving investigations and reviews
• Demonstrated ability to plan work in line with predicted operational requirements
• Understanding of generic process plant policies, procedures, risk assessment and management systems
• National Police clearance is required to obtain MSIC
