This will be accomplished through design, fabrication, testing and maintenance of heat exchangers and related process equipment. Job Summary: Fitters must read blueprints, cut/thread/weld pipes. The role requires strong safety awareness, mechanical skill, and the ability to work in confined spaces or at heights. Tasks & Responsibilities: * Inspect the workplace, clear obstructions, and prepare materials and equipment. * Study blueprints and plan pipe systems and related equipment installations. * Use a variety of tools to modify pipes to specifications. * Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading. * Assemble and weld pipe components and systems. * Secure pipes to walls and fixtures using brackets, clamps, and welding equipment. * Repair and maintain pipe systems, supports, and related equipment. * Comply with relevant codes and regulatory standards. Competencies * Blueprint reading * Knowledge of tape measure and standard measurements * Ability to perform degree finding * Ability to divide circumference of welds * Knowledge of overhead cranes and hand signals * Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills in safe rigging practices * Must be able to adhere to standards and perform a quality job in a safe manner within an acceptable time. * Physical requirements include Bending, squatting, climbing, stooping, twisting, and reaching, standing for long periods of time, lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. May be required to work at heights up to 25 feet.
