Job Summary: The Fitter/Welder is responsible for assembling and welding metal components to build and repair structures, machines, and other equipment. This role involves reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine the exact materials, dimensions, and welding requirements. May manufacture parts on specialized machines when needed. Key Duties & Responsibilities: * Must understand and model Dant Clayton’s core values and beliefs * Must be safety-oriented. All work and actions will always demonstrate safe conditions. * Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements. * Measure, cut, and assemble metal parts using tools like saws, grinders, and torches. * Fit, tack-weld, and prepare metal parts for welding. * Perform various types of welding, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding, to join metal parts. * Inspect welded surfaces to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. * Operate welding equipment and ensure it is maintained in good working order. * Inspect finished welds for conformance to specifications, including dimensions, penetrations, and overall integrity. * Adjust as needed to ensure high-quality output. * Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) to check the quality of welds. * Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. * Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure a clean and organized workspace. * Comply with industry regulations and company policies * Identify defects or issues with welding equipment and perform minor repairs or maintenance. * Troubleshoot problems during the welding process and make necessary adjustments. * Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used and time spent on each task. * Complete reports and documentation as required by the project or supervisor. * May operate specialized machines to manufacture needed parts. Requirements: * Proven experience as a Fitter/Welder in a manufacturing or industrial setting. * Proficiency in various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding. * Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. * Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues.
