THE ROLE

As a member of the Insights Analysis team the Senior Analyst will work as a part of the team that conducts research, develops MFS’ views and delivers in depth analysis, insight and thought leadership related In the near term, the headlines around tariffs are likely to remain a major driver of risk aversion. Beyond the broad effects on economic growth, the specific impact on corporate earnings remains uncertain. Essentially acting as a tax, its burden depends on who ultimately bears the cost. Several factors must be considered in this analysis: each company’s manufacturing and supply chain setup for various products, their ability to set prices, the extent to which exporters can absorb costs within their profit margins, the effects of currency fluctuations, the capacity of importers to absorb costs, the availability of alternative products, and the global markets and the macroeconomic environment, with a particular focus on global fixed income. The Senior Analyst will be responsible for sourcing data and assisting in the analysis across asset classes, investment styles and approaches. They are expected to support other members across Insights Advisory (SAIG) teams as they develop MFS’s thoughts on equity, fixed income, multi-asset and macro themes. The Senior Analyst will be responsible for assisting with client ready presentations, white papers, webcasts, conference presentations and responses to client inquiries. The Senior Analyst will work under the direction of senior members of the Strategy and Insights Group (SAIG).

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Works with members of Insight Advisory on a research program related to all aspects and asset classes (Fixed Income, Equities, and Multi-Asset). This includes partnering to continuously to assist with the development and maintenance of various capital markets dashboards, tracking of economic, political and market structures and forces plus providing ongoing commentary, views, and perspectives.
  • Support members of Insights Advisory and distribution colleagues on a wide array of projects including assisting with retirement issues, asset allocation, risk analysis, long-term modelling, and stress testing of multi-asset portfolios.
  • Through collaboration with team members provide support to senior members of the investment and distribution teams to collect and analyze data to support various technical projects. Leverage problem solving techniques and to provide relevant data points to members of SAIG. With the use of templates support the team to provide client-ready materials to showcase the firm’s investment insights in conjunction with team members.
  • Support the team to build analytical reports, which includes the analysis of industry trends, investment themes, staying abreast of client preferences and asset owner investment behavior by segment. Start to build an understanding of all relevant issues related to client investment decisions including governance, investment policy and implementation issues.
  • Assist other teams within SAIG and perform additional duties as and when required. Act as a supporting resource for macro, capital markets fixed income and equity data as well as client specific requests and projects.
