We are seeking someone to join our Finance - Product Control as an Analyst to manage the Fixed Income products . In the Finance division, we act as a partner to business units around the globe by providing management, review, analysis and advisory services of the Firm's financial and capital resources. This is an Analyst level position within the Product Controller Job Family. The Product Control group (PCG) within Finance is responsible for overseeing the accounting, financial and regulatory reporting for the Firm. PCG prepares external financial reports for public filings and regulators. For internal reporting, Finance, along with Financial Planning and Analysis (FPA), summarizes, plans and forecasts the organization's financial position, including income statements, balance sheets, and analyses of future revenues, expenses and earnings. PCG is comprised of Business Unit Controllers, Infrastructure Controllers, Accounting, Regulatory and Reporting groups, and Valuation Review. What you'll do in the role: As a controller, you will be a member of the P&L team supporting the Businesses. The P&L team is responsible for the daily validation, substantiation and reporting of P&L, weekly and monthly reporting, and providing analysis to support the Business and senior Finance management. This is a high-profile role, which requires the individual to work closely with colleagues across the global organization in Finance, Operations and the Business Unit. Collaborate with a varied group of colleagues in Finance and across the Firm Develop an understanding of Finance functional area, tools and processes Support team deliverables with guidance, and appropriately escalate issues to ensure timely and effective resolution Adhere to the Firm's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls Uphold the Firm's values and hold yourself accountable to Firm standards Manage the P&L process, including daily validation and substantiation of P&L and attributed P&L (Greek attributions) between Risk and reporting systems Prepare daily P&L reports for distribution to the business unit and finance managers for review Understand the businesses supported, including the strategy, products and inherent risks Understand the risk and reporting systems and contribute to enhancing the control environment Escalate issues to management in a timely manner Contribute to Finance-related projects, process enhancements and UAT testing Handle other P&L-related tasks and requests as required What you'll bring to the role: Willingness to learn Finance principles, tools and systems Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a professional environment Willingness to seek guidance and solicit feedback to further self-development Strong academic background including a graduation in Commerce, with specialization in Financial Accounting Strong analytical skills Attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines Chartered Accountant, MBA, or equivalent specialization in Finance At least 0–2 years of relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY: At Morgan Stanley, we raise, manage and allocate capital for our clients – helping them reach their goals.
