Role The Fixed Income business has expanded into more esoteric trades specifically with complex funding structures spanning several entities. The product set includes, but not limited to, Structured Bonds/Loans, Jefferies Issued Debt, Cash Bonds, Repos, Interest Rate Derivatives, Inflation Swaps, CDS, Caps & Floors, Swaptions, NDF’s and Futures (Currency, IR, Bond and Options). The candidate will be required to understand the booking flow and associated technical accounting implications across different entities with different Gaap Accounting scenarios. The funding of these transaction is non-standard so the candidate will be required to amalgamate all elements of the deal. Many of these structures are booked through SPV’s and the candidate is required to account, eliminate, and consolidated these into the Jefferies International entity. There is direct interaction with the trading desk, business management, new business team and a range of Operation functions, such as Middle Office, Settlements and Corporate Actions. The role offers a candidate the opportunity to be involved in an exciting and complex business area. It is imperative to build relationships with desk from day1 to understand these structures to articulate these tosenior finance management. Tracking these various deals through the trade lifecycle and building upon control environment will be crucial to success. Key Responsibilities Daily PL Production including: Day 1 Review Flash v Actual Analysis Accounting for Fee Revenues and Expenses P&L Commentaries FOBO review Inventory Reporting T0 Reporting Clean P&L Weekly Commentary analysis for Financial Reporting Month End work including: Balance Sheet substantiation Reconciliation of reported P&L to ledger Review of and assistance in IPV process Management Packs for deals and associated P&L P&L and inventory movement commentaries Additional responsibilities Active involvement in enhancements and development of process/system flows to ease automation of P&L production Ad hoc management reporting Assist in building out processes for new products sets or system implementation that may arise Person Specification Prior Experience in Structured Products Qualified Accountant Knowledge of reserving methodologies/valuation adjustments Able to work autonomously Uses initiative to identify issues and implement solutions Advanced excel knowledge Strong team player Ability to train and upskill the wider team Able to prioritise workload to achieve daily targets Able to multitask to answer desk and management requests on a timely basis Be proud of the work he/she produces and not turn a “blind eye” to problems Ability to automate and rationalise processes as necessary #LI-JD1 Jefferies is a leading global, full-service investment banking and capital markets firm that provides advisory, sales and trading, research, and wealth and asset management services.
