Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Fixed Plant - Mechanical Fitter/Operator based at our Ranger Rehabilitation Project in Jabiru to execute efficient day-to-day operation and maintenance activities of the Brine Concentrator while pro-actively working to identify opportunities for improvement.

Bus-in; Bus Out from Darwin and working a rotating Day/Night – 12.65 hour – 7:7 roster and reporting to the Brine Concentrator Operations & Maintenance Supervisor, you will be:

  • Carrying out maintenance work as required including scheduled work, break-in work, and maintenance shutdowns
  • Monitoring fixed plant infrastructure, equipment status and trends so that plant stability is optimised
  • Assisting with the completion of relevant incident investigations
  • Working in hot, humid, and wet challenging environmental conditions including working at heights and within confined spaces
  • Demonstrating a strong commitment to safety to achieve a workplace target of zero injuries and incidents
  • Proactively communicating all unresolved safety and process deficiencies to the leaders involve
  • Actively communicating unresolved safety and process deficiencies to relevant leadership
  • Keeping work areas safe, clean, and well maintained and taking timely action to correct unsafe work conditions in the work area
  • Continuously contributing to improvement efforts by developing and implementing solutions to address issues identified in the work area
  • Challenging existing processes and suggesting improvements to enhance operational effectiveness.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Certificate III Mechanical Trade
  • A current manual ‘C’ class driver’s licence
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and team skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of computers and Microsoft software packages
  • Strong critical thinking capabilities
