Description
To support the commercial activities of the department by providing a professional and efficient first point of contact for customers, ensuring sales opportunities are optimised whilst maintaining first-class customer service. To act as a key link between Sales, Buying, Logistics and Operations teams, ensuring customer requirements are delivered efficiently and profitably whilst maintaining excellent customer service standards. • Previous experience within a sales support, internal sales or customer account management environment • Strong commercial awareness and customer-focused approach • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability • Ability to identify opportunities and proactively improve processes • Good financial understanding and ability to reconcile figures • Fully ICT literate and competent in all Microsoft Office applications • Intermediate to advanced Excel capability • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively • Ability to work independently and make decisions within agreed guidelines • Strong attention to detail and administrative capability • Take ownership of day-to-day management of customer accounts, building and maintaining strong customer relationships and identifying opportunities for account growth Act as the first point of contact for customer and operational queries during weekend working periods, ensuring issues are handled promptly, accurately and escalated where appropriate • Process and manage customer orders efficiently, ensuring all quantities, pricing, discounts and delivery requirements are accurate and communicated effectively • Proactively identify and maximise sales opportunities through upselling, cross-selling and customer engagement activity • Produce, analyse and interpret sales reports and performance data, identifying trends and making recommendations to improve sales performance and operational efficiency • Monitor customer purchasing patterns and provide insight to support sales and buying decisions • Take ownership of the resolution of customer issues, delivery concerns and product queries • Liaise closely with Buying, Logistics and Warehouse teams to ensure customer requirements can be fulfilled effectively and efficiently • Assist with aged debt monitoring, customer payment management and pre-emptive credit control activities • Create and maintain sales databases, customer records and reporting documentation as required • Provide support and guidance to Sales Coordinators and act as a point of escalation for day-to-day queries where required • Provide support and decision-making capability during periods of Team Leader absence • Support onboarding and training of new team members where required • Undertake any additional duties required for the effective operation of the department • Take into consideration sustainable solutions and best practices to support the company-wide sustainability strategy and reduce environmental impact
