Overview Flag Person/ Labourer Sureway Construction is one of Alberta’s largest heavy construction contractors, with over 50 years’ experience, involved in; civil earthworks and grading, utilities and offsite, mine operation and aggregate extraction. Job Type: Full Time, Seasonal Schedule: 10+ hours per day, 6 & 1, OT after 8hr/day or 44hr/week Perks: Benefits, RRSP/TFSA Matching Location: Edmonton and Surrounding Area’s - no direct access to public transportation Essential: Hard-working, reliable, flexible with schedule, ability to work in physically demanding conditions Requirements: Personal Reliable Vehicle CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support Pre-employment: Drug and alcohol testing (swab-based test) Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation Responsibilities: Ensuring that traffic cones and barricades are in designated areas. Use hand signals, signs and verbal communication to ensure the motorists as well as the crew are safe. Record any incidents where motorists are not complying with the direction of the flagger. Participate as a vital team member, and contribute towards the success of the organization, which may involve the provision of other technical and administrative support, as required. Attend daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections. Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others.
