SUMMARY OF POSITION

As a Fleet and Equipment Co, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and logistical support of vehicles, machinery, and equipment used by the organization. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that all equipment is operational, safe, and compliant with regulatory standards. You will also be involved in operation, inventory management, procurement of parts and supplies, and documenting maintenance and repair activities.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Proven experience as a mechanic or technician.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Knowledge of heavy equipment systems, including engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and transmissions.
Ability to use diagnostic software and tools to troubleshoot issues.
Proficiency in welding, machining, and other fabrication techniques. 
Licenses/Certificates: CDL A, DOT Inspection Certification’s strongly preferred, or must obtain within 6 months of hire date.

Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Repair:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on vehicles, machinery, and equipment according to schedules
  • Conduct inspections to identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues
  • Diagnose faults and repair or replace defective parts as necessary
  • Ensure all repairs are conducted safely and efficiently to minimize downtime

Logistical Support:

  • Coordinate the scheduling and dispatching of vehicles and equipment as needed
  • Track maintenance schedules and ensure timely servicing of vehicles and equipment
  • Manage inventory of spare parts and supplies and procure replacements as required

Compliance and Documentation:

  • Ensure all vehicles and equipment meet regulatory requirements and safety standards
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized workshop environment

Operation, Training and Support:

  • Collaborate with other business units to support operational needs
  • Provide training to staff on the proper use and maintenance of equipment
  • Offer technical support and guidance to operators and other personnel
  • Collaborate with other departments to support operational needs
