ABOUT US

We are a 79-year-old construction company specializing in heavy civil highway and site development projects. We operate a fleet of commercial dump trucks that keep our projects moving on schedule. We are looking for a skilled Fleet & Logistics Manager to oversee daily operations, ensure safety compliance, and optimize efficiency across our trucking operations.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Fleet & Logistics Manager will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and directing the use of our dump truck fleet to meet project needs. This role requires strong leadership, operational planning, and knowledge of DOT regulations, with a focus on safety, cost control, and on-time performance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of fleet or logistics management experience (construction or heavy equipment preferred)
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation, or related field preferred or equivalent combination
  • Strong knowledge of dump truck operations and hauling regulations
  • Proficiency with fleet management or dispatch software
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
  • Valid and acceptable driver’s license (CDL preferred)
  • DOT Compliance and Fleet Safety certifications preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work both in office and in the field.
  • Regular exposure to outdoor construction environments, weather conditions, and heavy equipment.
  • Must be able to climb into and out of vehicles and walk on uneven terrain.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily dump truck dispatch and scheduling for construction projects and materials delivery.
  • Coordinate deliveries with project managers, plant managers and site supervisors.
  • Monitor GPS and route efficiency to reduce downtime and fuel costs.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety policies.
  • Manage preventative maintenance schedules and repair needs.
  • Supervise and mentor drivers and logistics staff.
  • Track KPIs and manage fleet operating budget.
