Overview Joby Aviation is seeking an enthusiastic Fleet Care Engineer to join our growing Aftermarket Support Engineering Team with a focus on developing the OEM technical support framework in support of ongoing activities and in preparation for the commercial launch of our S4 aircraft program. The position will be in our Santa Cruz, CA location. The role will actively work cross functionally with teams in Joby Aviation including engineering, manufacturing, maintenance and operations to successfully deploy protocols related to fleet care. The Fleet Care Engineer will be responsible for: Supporting the S4 Fleet of aircraft through AOG resolution and technical support. Deriving technical content for various instructions for continued airworthiness and aircraft maintainability functions. Aiding the deployment of various processes related to fleet support and aircraft certification deliverables. Responsibilities Focal for fleet care on the electric power generation and electric propulsion systems of the S4 Aircraft. Deliver technical content related various instructions for continued airworthiness including fault isolation, servicing procedures and level of repairs. Support teams such as reliability, spares and repairs and maintenance engineering in their initiatives. Deploy processes and procedures related to technical fleet support. Act as a member of the AOG support team to reduce fleet downtime. Support company execution of key deliverables related to TIA, Type Cert and Post TC. Required 3+ years’ experience in a technical product support role. Bachelors of engineering or aircraft maintenance professional designation. Comfortable in first line role managing complex and evolving situations. Strong continuous improvement mindset. Strong communication skills, ability to liaise with internal and external teams. Self-starter who is comfortable solving open ended problems. Desired Experience in first- or second-line customer support or field service representative in an OEM or equivalent entity. Engineering experience on electric vehicles. Experience in a startup or equivalent environment. Additional Information Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $91,500 - $151,900 annually. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
